Vision RV is making waves in the Australian caravan market with its cutting-edge, fully composite, timber-free caravans. At the www.OnlyVans.com.au 2024 Caravan & Camper Excellence Round-Up, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jon, who brought along their latest model, the Elysium 19’6 Couples Off-Road. This state-of-the-art caravan is a testament to Vision RV’s commitment to innovation, off-road capability, and giving back to the community.

“It’s a new generation of caravan building,” Jon explained. “Fully composite and 100% timber-free, with all the bells and whistles and full off-road ability.” Although it’s one of the most visually impressive models present at the 2024 Round-Up, the Elysium 19’6 Couples Off-Road isn’t just about looks.

Elysium 19’6: Built for All Ages and Off-Road Adventures

From younger couples to retirees, the Elysium 19’6 is versatile enough to meet the needs of any adventurer. “It goes for all ages,” Jon tells me.

Part of the Elysium’s broad appeal is its combination of rugged off-road capability and an impressive suite of technological inclusions, a combination that Jon tells me customers are increasingly demanding: “It’s what people expect these days, and to move forward, you have to offer those sorts of things in the vans.”

Off-Grid Freedom with Cutting-Edge Technology

Designed to be fully self-sufficient, the Elysium boasts an immense 1000W solar power system and a 300Ah lithium battery paired with a 3000W Enerdrive inverter to ensure energy independence. It also has a substantial 270L drinking water capacity and a 75L grey water tank, allowing owners to get off-grid for days at a time.

Additionally, the Elysium features a cutting-edge Garmin Connect 50 Digital Switching System, a piece of technology that allows owners to operate their caravan from their phone or car. “You can turn lights on and off, dim them, control the Gusto dust reduction system—all from your phone,” Jon explains.

Listening to Customers: The Key to Staying Ahead

As Jon tells me, listening to customers and their needs is critical to Vision RV’s approach. “You’ve got to listen to your customers, they’re out there using them [the caravans]. So any bit of technology that is out there that we can integrate into the van, we’ll try and do,” he says. This approach has kept Vision RV at the forefront of the market and their caravans in a class of their own.

Big Things on the Horizon

While Vision RV is already ahead of the curve, Jon hinted at even more exciting developments on the horizon. “We have got a few things in the wind, but I can’t elaborate too much on them,” he said with a smile. “But they are coming—big things are happening.”

Jon is optimistic about the future of the industry. He believes that with international travel still out of reach for many, caravan sales will continue to grow over the next few years. “Not everyone can afford to go overseas or wants to go overseas, so I think we’re going to see a general increase in caravan sales in the next two to five years,” he predicts.

Giving Back: Vision RV’s Partnership with Shoreline

Beyond their commitment to innovation, Vision RV is also deeply involved in supporting Indigenous communities. Through their partnership with the Shoreline charity, Vision RV donates $1,000 from the sale of every caravan featuring the eye-catching Kiah Leumeah and Waabiny decals. The Kiah Leumeah features original artwork designed by Daren Dunn, NAIDOC Artist of the Year, and each decal sale contributes to important causes.

Shoreline works to connect schools with training organisations and employers, ensuring that First Nations trainees obtain vocational qualifications while still in school and move directly into full-time employment. Vision RV began supporting Shoreline in 2021, raising over $12,000 through a charity auction at Sunseeker’s Annual Owner’s Rally.

“It’s helping the foundation, it’s helping the Indigenous communities, and it looks sensational,” Jon says proudly, reflecting on the impact of these initiatives.

Blending Innovation with Community Commitment

Vision RV’s commitment to both customers and the community is at the core of what they do, and it’s clear that this is a brand that cares about more than just caravans. Vision RV is not only pushing the boundaries of what off-road caravans can offer with its combination of cutting-edge technology and construction, but it is also showing a new way forward for brands with community outreach at the heart of their operations.

As it continues to grow, Vision RV is well-positioned to lead the industry in both innovation and social responsibility. For those looking to explore Australia in style and comfort while supporting a brand that gives back, Vision RV offers the perfect blend of adventure-ready vans, technology, and community spirit.
