With the RV market shifting and evolving, the Q3 2024 RV Market Brand Consideration Report by Retain Media is here to help you get a handle on how the landscape has changed over the last few months. From brand leaders maintaining their positions to new movers gaining traction, there’s plenty to digest in this quarter’s results.

Jayco Remains on Top

It’s no surprise that Jayco continues to dominate, holding the top spot in the all-brands category. Even with a small decline in its search share (26.1% in Q3, down from 26.8% in Q2), the brand remains far ahead of the competition. Although the 0.7% drop represents a 2.6% relative decline quarter-on-quarter, Jayco’s ability to stay in the lead despite these dips speaks to its long-standing reputation and customer loyalty.

In contrast, MDC, in second place, saw a modest 0.3-point increase, holding 4.1% of the market—a 7.8% relative rise from Q2 to Q3. Ezytrail also performed well, moving up slightly from 3.3% to 3.5% for a 6% relative increase.

Snowy River Gains Momentum

One of the big winners this quarter is Snowy River Caravans, which climbed by 0.4 points to reach a 2.2% market share—a significant 22.2% relative increase. Snowy River’s steady rise since launching in 2015 continues to impress, and with its growing popularity, it’s becoming a notable name among RV enthusiasts.

Stoney Creek Campers also saw a boost, gaining 0.2 points for an 18.1% relative increase in Q3, highlighting growing interest in their offerings.

Australian-Made Brands See Shifts

Jayco continues to lead the Australian-made brands category with a 35.2% share, though it did see a 1.4% relative decline from Q2. Avan remains in second place but also experienced a slight dip, dropping from 4.1% to 4.0%. However, there were gains for New Age, Patriot Campers, and Zone RV, with the latter enjoying a notable 27.2% relative increase year-on-year.

Brands outside the top 20 also showed some interesting shifts. BruderX, for example, saw a remarkable 62.5% relative increase this quarter, demonstrating that even brands lower on the list can still pack a punch when it comes to consumer interest.

Imported Brands See Some New Contenders

In the imported category, Market Direct Campers (MDC) held strong at the top with 15.8% market share—up from 15.0% in Q2. Meanwhile, Ezytrail, in second place, enjoyed a small increase, rising from 13.3% to 13.7%. Snowy River once again saw significant growth here, with a 14.8% relative increase, reinforcing its strong position in both the Australian-made and imported categories.

Arctic Campers, a brand to watch, saw a huge 50% relative increase, solidifying its position as a rising star in the imported segment. Prime Campers also made waves with an 83.3% jump in search share this quarter.

Discontinued Brands See Interest Wane

The discontinued brands category, as expected, continued to be led by brands no longer in production. Tango Caravans took the top spot after liquidators were appointed in August, with search interest skyrocketing to 42.9%. Highline, which led the category last quarter following its liquidation, saw its search share plummet as consumer interest shifted elsewhere.

While some discontinued brands still garner attention, this interest tends to fade over time. That said, models like Black Series and Lumberjack Camper remain popular among those seeking second-hand options, showing that there’s still value to be found in the used RV market.
