Whether it’s a small pop-up camper trailer you can tow with your car, or a the whole box and dice, that you can drive yourself, Jayco is delivering on its promise to deliver high quality recreational vehicles (RV), from the ground up.

Australian owned and operated, the brand brings with it more than 45 years of experience in every vehicle it builds. Take the Lark camper trailer for example. The perfect entry level offering, it sleeps six, and tips the scales at 1,180kg.

First and foremost, that means most mid-sized SUVs and cars with a 1,500kg braked towing capacity, can haul it with ease. It’s ultra-light tow ball weight ensures you won’t weigh your vehicle down either.

Throw in a two-burner cooker, 95-litre 3-way fridge, and flexible seating and bedding options, and it’s hard to go past as a starting point for your caravan journey. Because it’s a pop-up camper trailer, it also packs down small, and fits in a conventional garage.

Available in two trims (Touring and Outback), the Lark also features a 100Ah lithium battery with a Bluetooth phone app to monitor charge levels, a fan and bed light, external storage, and an onboard water tank and mains pressure tap.

Innerspring mattresses for the two main beds (which push out when the unit is assembled) complete the standard Touring offering – which incidentally is available from $26,254 tow away.

The Outback hits the road at $31,074, but adds JTECH independent coil suspension, protective aluminium checker plate on the sides, a 150mm chassis, 100AMP battery, elevated ground clearance, drop jacks, and a gas bayonet.

Up from the Lark, larger offerings include the Swan, pop-top options like the Jayco Journey, and full sized vans, such as the Starcraft. An ultra-compact offering called the J-Pod and a choice of full off-grid units are also available, including the All-Terrain.

At the other end of the scale, are options that don’t require towing. Instead, you jump in and drive. Jayco’s motorized range starts with three campervans, the JRV, Optimum and All-Terrain, with each self-contained vehicle offering unique options.

For those looking for something larger, you can step up to the Conquest, and its bigger brother, or sister if you prefer, the Optimum. The latter is a true home away from home, offering luxury and sophistication thanks to features you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.

Supremely comfortable, it sleeps four and comes with a 218-litre fridge, air conditioning, auto-levelling for when you’re parked on uneven surfaces, a 3.6kW generator and even a dishwasher (in certain layouts).

The kitchen includes a 2-burner induction cooktop, and there’s also a full ensuite bathroom with a separate shower and toilet, loads of storage, a remote control outdoor awning, and a roof-mounted 200W solar system.

You’ll also find an on-demand hot water system, 4G WiFi, fans, a microwave and satellite dish, 360-degree reversing camera, with a host of optional extras available to truly customise your ride.

Sitting on an Iveco Daily platform that’s powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel with an 8-speed auto, the vehicle underneath the range topping Optimum Motorhome comes with a 3-year warranty, and 3-years or 200,000km of breakdown assistance.

Two smaller setups are also available, built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Fiat Ducato platform respectively, with both offering similar features to the Iveco Daily variant. Pricing for the latter starts at $277,990 drive away.
