Cub Campers launches its smallest hybrid yet: the F14 pop-top
Cub Campers has unveiled its latest creation, the F14 — a hybrid caravan that combines the best of both caravan and camper trailer, designed to offer a sleek, low-profile solution for those seeking a compact yet versatile offroad option that fits under the average garage or carport.
Sporting a contemporary, elegant design, the F14 stands as the lowest profile hybrid in Cub’s range, measuring just 2.06 metres (6ft 8in) in height. This design is intended to reduce wind resistance, improve fuel efficiency and minimise sway while travelling.
True to its reputation for robust Australian-made craftsmanship, Cub uses in-house welded BlueScope steel to construct the chassis, ensuring durability and reliability.
Weighing in at just 1759kg*, the F14 is nearly 200kg lighter than the industry average for its size, making it the lightest hybrid caravan in the Cub lineup. With a ball weight of 190kg*, this model is ideal for couples looking to venture off the beaten path without the bulk of traditional caravans.
Despite its reduced weight, the F14 doesn’t compromise on features. The interior is generously sized, with an upgraded kitchenette offering 50 per cent more storage and counter space than other Cub hybrids. When it’s time to rest, the F14 comes with a premium Cub king pillowtop mattress, ensuring a restful sleep. Optional upgrades include a 115L Dometic fridge and a microwave.
For entertainment, the F14 includes a four-speaker Fusion Bluetooth stereo system, with two internal and two external speakers. You can also enjoy the great outdoors under the large Fiamma awning or stay cool inside with the added comfort features.
The F14 is equipped with a 150Ah lithium battery, backed by a five-year warranty and charged by two 180W REDARC Electronics Monocrystalline solar panels. As night falls, stylish lighting illuminates both the inside and outside of the caravan.
For water needs, the F14 has a 100L freshwater tank and a 50L grey water tank. The van can also be upgraded for a more extensive off-grid experience, with an optional 600Ah battery, 1080W solar and up to 200L of freshwater storage.
Newly available as an option is an internal ensuite, priced at $6999, which includes an OGO Origin composting toilet — perfect for long stays in off-grid locations.
The F14 also emphasises outdoor living, with a high-quality SMEV three-burner stainless steel stove and sink, plus textured stainless steel work surfaces in its outdoor kitchen. This model introduces a first for Cub, with an external galley pantry situated above the kitchen, offering extra storage space. Its darker colour palette sets it apart from other models in the Cub hybrid series.
As part of the luxury hybrid caravan range, the F14 is available with options such as the Cruisemaster airbag suspension and air conditioning.
For a limited time, the F14 is available from $74,990.
