Family Camping
The C5 is the ultimate in family camping, combining outside camper trailer lifestyle with inside caravan comfort. Externally, under a quick set up, 5m awning, sits the slide out chef’s kitchen, optional fridge/freezer, pantry and prep bench. Internally, there is a Queen size bed, two long bunk beds for the children, a lounge, a hot water shower, seperate toilet, three burner gas cooktop, sink and a Thetford 105L fridge. A Thetford gas/electric hot water system supplies the sinks and showers (internal and external).
Like all Modcon’s, the electrical set up of the C5 is designed for remote touring with a 600AH battery pack, 500W of solar with MPPT charger, 240v inverter/charger, DCDC charger and so on. The high end electrical system along with dual 95L water tanks and 125L grey water tank allow you to camp for extended periods. Big Red Bash anyone?
Space Forever
The C5’s clean and functional design makes it extremely livable with an extra high, electronically actuated lift up roof and a white gloss finish giving it an airy and spacious feel that belies its compact towability. Being only 2.17m wide, 2.73m high and with a low, aerodynamic profile, the C5 is built with remote travel in mind. Independent trailing arm suspension rated to 2800kg keeps both wheels grounded on outback tracks. Weight is kept to a minimum with a PVC honeycomb floor and fibre glass XPS composite roof and walls.
Storage in the C5 is impressive with many soft close drawers and cupboards. The front aerodynamic box provides massive space for extra gear, firewood and so on.
Build Quality and Longevity
The C5 Hybrid utilizes the latest composite panel technology to make a strong, light and well insulated caravan. The roof and side walls of the Cruiser 18 is a single piece fibre glass/closed cell foam core composite panel, while the floor is a PVC honeycomb panel designed for impact resistance. Bonded together, they make a monocoque build of excellent strength and thermal rating. The load bearing sections of the roof panel such as the air conditioning mount are further strengthened with aluminium box section bonded into the panel itself.
The chassis and draw bar are hot dipped galvanised inside and out, making for an undercarriage that will last.
